Marketing a new experience

I joined my current organization 1 year back and this year they moved me to a different and challenging position - Marketing. I started to learn, understand and meet new techniques of Marketing in the finance sector. A smile will always help someone win a customer and today when i was standing outside Bab al Bahrain and meeting people, many of them came across me and four of them send money through my exchange. It was a great experience in meeting common man and understanding what they feel about exchange houses and their hard earned money.
A holiday and most of them came from interior parts of Bahrain to spend a weekend and send money to loved ones. I had 50 leaflets in my hand and many read the leaflet giving me hope that atleast next month 1 of them will send money through my exchange.
Yesterday (10.03.2010), i reached home around 10pm and took my wife to a wonderful restaurant @ Juffair for dinner, an experience which i will remember for ever. A couple was waiting for service in the same restaurant for some time and the waiter just ignored them because of too many customers. I was watching the whole event with a smile and saw the same waiter treating the Arab family with a pleasant smile and with arrogance to the indian family. As i thought, the couple was upset with the service and left the food and walked out of the restaurant. Infact the waiter was the employee of the month.
Some companies marketing people were sitting next to the couples table and asked the waiter , what happend and in anger he said ' couple didnt understand us and we dont have machines , all are human beings' ,in a rude manner. Listening to this they said "bhaiya dont show your attitude to customers and dont treat people in this way'. The waiter went down totally and gave a grin face. The lady waitress who saw this got involved and with a smiling face handled the situation and the bunch of marketing people were happy. What i learned was with a polite and smiling face he could have won the customers heart and never ignore any nationalities or culture.
SMILE AND CALM HEAD WILL EARN GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP.
